Make the Mannum Visitor Information Centre your first port of call. The nationally accredited Visitor Information Centre located in the Museum foyer is open seven days a week and staffed by local volunteers who are keen to share their knowledge of the district.
As well as providing brochures and maps the Centre offers all the information needed to help visitors make the most of their time in the Murraylands region. Our retail outlet is a great place for a shop and a browse, especially for the person who has everything. A wide range of marine souvenirs, objects and toys for all ages and an excellent selection of books are available to add that finishing touch to your Museum visit. Bike hire is also available directly from the Visitor Information Centre.

Mannum – Murray River’s playground Set on the broad reaches of the Lower Murray, Mannum is accessible via the South Eastern Freeway from Adelaide or the scenic route through Gumeracha and Birdwood. Visit our historic Mannum Dock Discovery Centre, take a historic walk and learn more about how we became the birthplace of the paddle steamer in the Murray-Darling Basin.
Mannum is a river destination with something for everyone, whether it’s fossicking for fossils, river scenery, or activities such as houseboating or canoeing. You can also take a relaxing trip along the river on the original paddle steamer the PS Marion. Other overnight cruise boats available are the Murray Princess. Shorter day trips with an eco-tourism focus are available. There is a great choice of accommodation and wide range of houseboats for hire.
